+ really good social vibe to get to know people, nice bar area to hang around + free "family dinner" every night + very tasty other food and drink options at the restaurant + friendly staff + comfy bed with curtain for privacy, own locker

- bathrooms and toilets could have been cleaned more often

Great atmosphere! Its like walking into another space altogether, room is clean and beds are nice and soft. Great menu too! Would definitely recommend it!

It’s such a great place to meet new people.

It’s such a great place to meet new people. They have a family dinner everyday where you can easy find other travelers. The entire hostel is styled really nice. The restaurant has great food and you can book tours and busses directly there.

Very social and good for meeting people

Amazing family dinner every night that was included in the price. We booked Halong Bay tour with them which was amazing, tour guide was Bee and he made sure we had a great day. Beds are very comfortable with curtains. Staff was so helpful and sweet.

Bathrooms were very dirty constantly, sinks were plugged. Breakfast was not included, i personally preferred included breakfast and not dinner.

Great atmosphere;

Great atmosphere; great family dinners; very helpful staff, cheap beers at happy hour; helpful in booking tours and busses.

Some new pillows could be nice; Lockers could have hinges on the back, so they're actually lockable; Showers are usually cold, which is nice out of the heat, but not out of the airconditioned bedroom

Lovely place to stay

Family dinner was lovely, and helped create a sociable atmosphere in the hostel. The reakfast was tasty. The staff were super helpful. The murals and beanbag areas also have it a cool vibe

The social areas could have done with a few more fans

Everything was perfect, the rooms were really confortable,...

Everything was perfect, the rooms were really confortable, the staff is amazing. Family dinner is great food and perfect to meet people, the live music is really nice too. We were planning to stay one night and extended our stay ! Thank you for everything, this hostel was the best we did in Vietnam so far !

Family dinner every evening at 7pm .

Family dinner every evening at 7pm ... great food... Secret garden has a nice vibe...out the way of the busiest part of Cat Ba town but still very close to everything... Eddie plays some cool tunes and Coi is fantastic ... really helpful . Freindly staff ... can't recommend secret garden enough..got to be the best hostel on Cat Ba island. Any trips and advice on forward travel these guys make sure you get the best deals and help with your plans... fantastic.. thanks to you all and I'll be back !

All-around great hostel.

All-around great hostel. The social aspect of this place is spectacular. The family dinner is a great way of meeting new people, whilst enjoying excellent vegetarian food and some rice wine atop of that. Rooms are nicely air conditioned and clean. Beds comfy and private. The staff are happy & friendly. The owners are very cool and very nice to chat with.

Nowhere to hang a towel in the bathroom.

Great location to meet other foreigners.

Great location to meet other foreigners. Clean place, comfortable bed, plenty of space and private locker for your personal stuff, cheap food and drinks, free dinner, anything that you need...they can do it. You cannot ask for anything better then this.
